You Need To Hear: Dune Rats - 'Solar Eyes'

Dune Rats challenge your expectations on 'Solar Eyes'.()

You can probably imagine what a new Dune Rats song sounds like without having to hear it, right? Well, guess again.

While it's true that Dunies have a very finely-tuned and well-oiled ratbag machine running on nothing but tinnies and smoke, their latest track 'Solar Eyes' is something truly different.

Like a clutchless gear change in a never-failing shitbox, Dune Rats have pivoted and released a shimmering, bright indie-leaning track that feels like running your hands through the sand.

'Solar Eyes' subverts the expectations of the Brisbane trio. Instead of the chunky, cheeky punk we've come to love (and love to crowdsurf to), they've delivered something a little more reminiscent of The Sleepy Jackson and other glittering alt pop of the early 2000s.

"We wrote a song.
We like it.
We are putting it out."
