The twin producers from Sydney bring it back, sing it back with Asta in the Like A Version studio.
After doing the backing vocals for ‘C.U.D.I.’ Asta took the lead on the cover of the DJ Boris Dlugosch remix of Moloko’s ‘Sing It Back'. Both the original version and the remix were released in 1999 but it’s the reworked version that topped the charts.
“It’s an old one but the thing about those tunes is they just last forever,” says Pat. "So we had to give it a little spin in the only way we know how.”
They chose to cover this particular track partly because it’s in the same key as their own ‘Can U Dig It’. “It just happened, when we were writing it, we started singing ‘Sing It Back’ over the top and were like, ‘Oh shit, I forgot about that song’,” says Cosmo. “And then we thought we should just do it in our live show and do a mash-up. Then one thing led to the next and here we are covering it.”
