Finding yourself in the weird limbo of a relationship where you're trying to figure out where you stand is a universal feeling. It's also one that Lotte Gallagher has captured in her latest track, 'Gray'.

With a mature gravity to her music well beyond her 17 years, Lotte has immediately found herself in the company of heartbreakers like Angie McMahon and the boygenius trio (Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker). A foot-stomping beat works as the backbone to this instant indie classic, showcasing Lotte's soaring vocals and how she weaves light and shade to drive the track deep into your brain.

This is just her second-ever released track, so Lotte Gallagher is one to keep your eye on from here on out.

"It's about having a messy relationship with someone who you know isn't good for you, the endless cycle of them letting you down and the denial you put yourself in that they like you as much as you like them, when its clearly not reciprocated," she said.

"This song is about the grey area. It is never a place you want to be."
