First Spin: DMA’s return with another rousing slice in ‘Silver’

Posted

You been missing the sweet, sweet sounds of DMA’s?

Been endlessly hitting repeat on their 3x ARIA nominated album, For Now? Me too.

Just as polished as the name itself, ‘Silver’ shows DMA’s progressing into slicker form of their late 90s-early 00s pop revival. Warm, encompassing guitar parts wrap their arms around you, while singer Tommy O’Dell’s voice soars, in a way that’s damn near impossible to be anything other than lovable.

How do I redefine all my love for you,” he croons, over a bed of strings.

It’s the same DMA’s we’ve come to expect, just a little more straightforward in its approach to pop.

'Silver' comes with an atmospheric clip by Charlotte Evans - who’s worked with Stella Donnelly, Marlon Williams and Aldous Harding - so it's safe to say they’re in good hands.

The video sees Tommy and the band standing tall in an expressive, near monochrome video with flashes of heavenly light.

DMA's are currently touring the UK with one Mr. Liam Gallagher, before heading back to Aus for Fairgrounds Festival and Laneway 2020.
