Aotearoa (New Zealand) raised artist Shakaiah Perez, AKA Lady Shaka is a trailblazing Afro Pasifika DJ, producer and global music icon who has been captivating dancefloors around the world with her turbo blends of club forward bangers, bombastic remixes and Indigenous sounds.
She’s renowned for her festival sets at the likes of Glastonbury, Sonar Festival and Beyond The Valley, and performances at multiple Boiler Rooms including London, Naarm/Melbourne and Berlin, as one of the first Pacific Islanders to DJ on the platform.

In 2019 she founded club night and global collective Poluto Underworld, aiming to celebrate Pasifika music, culture, artistry, and excellence. She continues to work while fundraising for Pacific Island relief and working with platforms like Boiler Room and Keep Hush.
Last month saw Lady Shaka begin new chapter in her career, signing with Australian label NLV Records and dropping her debut original release ‘E Tu’, a high tempo house banger with an important message.
The track re-imagines 2000’s band Aaria’s song ‘Kei A Wai Rā Te Kupu’, utilising the lyrics to celebrate the unity of dance communities while speaking to the genre’s political origins. Check it out here:
